CTDA Webinar: Update on AntiDumping and Countervailing Duty Complaint Against Chinese Tile

Confused about all you’ve heard regarding potential future duties on Chinese tile? Not sure what will be covered? Don’t know when the duties may take effect? CTDA has answers to all your questions!

This CTDA webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, 2019, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM CDT to provide an update on "AntiDumping and Countervailing Duty Complaint Against Chinese Tile". The webinar will be presented by Robin Grover, CTDA's Trade Attorney.

By a unanimous vote, the U.S. International Trade Commission (“ITC”) on Friday, May 24, 2019, found a reasonable indication that U.S. imports of ceramic tile from China are causing material injury or threaten such injury to the American ceramic tile manufacturing industry.

The significance of this decision is that it means that both the antidumping (“AD”) and countervailing duty (“CVD”) cases will move forward. The next steps will be by the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration (“ITA”) which will make preliminary determinations as to: 1) whether China is granting manufacturer subsidies in violation of international agreements ("CVD”), and 2) if China’s manufacturers are dumping ceramic tile in the United States by selling it at unfair prices (“AD”).

Mr. Grover will share details about this decision and how they may affect our member. He will also be available to answer any additional questions that our members may have.
