In this session we will discuss three main topics:
- What the risk is when movement joints are not incorporated in installations
- The types of joints in concrete and the movement types that can occur at the joints
- What industry guidelines apply to movement joints and how to apply them

Mike Daniels, a Sr. Technical Service representative for MAPEI Corporation, is responsible for making recommendations on product use, troubleshooting job problems and evaluating new products or systems developed for the ceramic tile, resilient flooring markets, and marine applications. Mike has been in the construction industry for 34 years and MAPEI for 27 years. His experience has included product formulation, small/large scale Physical/structural testing of building systems and components, Quality control, and Technical assistance to the US, Caribbean, and South American markets. He is also an active participant in the ASTM F06 and C21 committees.
