"TCNA Environmental Classifications – Quantifying Moisture and Temperature Limits for Tile Installations" - Cris Bierschank

The next CTDA webinar is scheduled for Thursday, January 23rd at 11 am Central on "TCNA Environmental Classifications – Quantifying Moisture and Temperature Limits for Tile Installations" with Cris Bierschank.

Webinar

Cris is a MAPEI Technical Resource Representative and LEED Green Associate who writes and develops the company’s training programs and technical documents.  Cris’ thirty years of experience in field engineering and training include collaboration on numerous global manufacturing installation projects.  During the past nine years with MAPEI, he has applied his experience to the construction and flooring industry in assisting customers with product recommendations and applications.

CTDA Webinar Overview:

For years, the tile industry has used terms such as “intermittent wet,” “excellent water resistance,” “prolonged water exposure,” “limited water exposure,” “short-term exposure through splashing,” “long-term to permanent water exposure,” and “low, moderate and high heat exposure”.

Often it is left to either the design professional or installer to determine “How wet is wet?” or “How hot is hot?”  In 2011 the TCNA introduced a new set of guidelines, known as the TCNA Environmental Classifications, which more clearly define the environment that the tile will be installed in – creating a point of reference regarding degree of moisture and heat exposure.  This presentation will discuss how these classifications can effectively minimize installation failure in various environments by matching the ‘right product’ to the ‘right application’.

This webinar is free for CTDA Members thanks to a generous sponsorship from MAPEI.
