RYMAN AUDITORIUM
One of Nashville’s signature historical country music landmarks. Originally built as a tabernacle, the Ryman Auditorium is best known as the “Mother Church of Country Music” and was home to the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. Take time to visit The Hermitage, former home of Andrew Jackson and one of the most popular presidential homes in the nation. You are greeted by a costumed interpreter who guides you on a lively tour, recounting the colorful life of our nation’s seventh president, his family and daily life at The Hermitage in the early 19th century. The Hermitage is a National Historic Landmark standing on 650 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands. Today’s tour includes a visit to The Hermitage mansion, grounds, garden, Jackson’s tomb, and original cabins.

Music City Sweets, Goo Goo Cluster Making Class

In 1912, in a copper kettle at the Standard Candy Company in Nash-ville, TN the first “combination can-dy bar” was created. A roundish mound of caramel, marshmallow nougat, fresh roasted peanuts, and real milk chocolate that today is known to all as the “Goo Goo Clus-ter.” When in Nashville, it’s nearly impossible not to see these sweet treats throughout the city - and once you try one, even more impos-sible not to get hooked!
