Subject: 20th Management Conference, a Memorable One
The
2003 CTDA Management Conference will go down as one of the most
memorable conferences ever! On November 13-16, CTDA celebrated it's
20th conference at Marriott's Grand Hotel Golf Club and Spa in Point
Clear, Alabama - site of the first event in 1984!
Attendees
participated in top-notch educational seminars, covering topics
from communications to the economic state of the country. Many commented
that the speakers touched upon real issues that were prevalent in
the industry, while others enjoyed learning new concepts that could
be implemented back home. Not only did the speakers provide useful,
relevant information, but they were entertaining as well.
There
were also many positive remarks about the wonderful leisure events
like the golf tournament, gardens tour and sailing tour. Spouses
had the chance to take a leisurely tour of local Fairhope, home
of many antique shops. Overall, Point Clear was a beautiful setting
to get a way and take a break.
Launch
of TileDealer Magazine
On
Thursday evening, CTDA held a special reception to launch it's new
industry publication called TileDealer Magazine, a new, bimonthly
magazine aimed at ceramic tile distributor and dealer professionals.
Attendees witnessed the unveiling of the first issue during this
crowning event and were given complimentary issues of the magazine.
TileDealer's editorial content will consist of one-on-one interviews
with industry leaders, never-before-offered management and training
articles, product innovations, industry insights, industry calendar,
classified section and much, much, more.
Needless to say, the magazine launch experienced rave reviews from
all attendees.
Keynote
Speaker Colonel Oliver North
The
conference concluded on a patriotic note with keynote speaker Colonel
Oliver North. Colonel North mesmerized the audience with riveting
stories of his days in the military and his more recent adventures
in Iraq reporting for Fox News. More importantly, he talked about
the bright future our young American soldiers have to offer this
great industry. It was truly an inspirational evening.

CTDA would like to thank all the sponsors for making the conference
a reality. Without your support each year, we would not have this
wonderful event to offer our members and industry.
We look forward to seeing everyone at next year's conference, November
2004, in Cancun, Mexico!
Best Regards,
Gail Schovan
